Metropolitan Community College Transfer Agreements
The course-by-course transfer guides list the mcC courses that are transferred to four-year institutions by identifying the equivalent courses in the four-year institution. The guides are very useful when students want to take a specific course at MCC to transfer to a four-year institution. To effectively use the course-by-course transfer guides, students need to know their specific four-year course requirements to determine if an equivalent transfer course is available at MCC. The Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) is designed to facilitate transfers from one institution to another. One of the guiding principles of the agreement is to promote transparency between institutions and to ensure the accuracy of transfer information for students. MCC accepts transfer loans from regionally accredited public and private institutions with a recognized reputation. Transfer work will be evaluated and published as soon as mcC receives the official transcripts, either directly from the transferring school or in a sealed envelope. Transcripts can also be sent electronically from the National Student Information Centre if your previous institution participates. Bachelor`s Associate Agreements provide for the completion of an associate degree in the process of obtaining a bachelor`s degree. Most, if not all, of the credits of the associate degree are transferred to the four-year institution, often with the transferred student receiving a junior class. To take advantage of these agreements, students must complete the entire A-B program and complete the MCC.
The McC-WSC transfer agreement is a great opportunity to create your resume by turning your associate degree into a bachelor`s degree. Wayne State College offers a Bachelor of Technology degree through Metropolitan Community College (MCC) in Omaha. If you already have an AA. or MCC`s AAS, you can transfer these credits to complete your bachelor`s degree at Wayne State while taking courses at MCC`s facilities in Omaha. All courses taken at other colleges and universities are part of the student`s permanent records. However, only courses that match those in the student`s MCC program will be applied to an MCC degree or MCC certificate. While MCC GPA is used for an MCC degree or MCC certificate, transfer surrogacy appears on the MCC transcript as transfer GPA and is included in the combined GPA.
Any transfer student who denies that there has been unfair treatment in accepting college credits can contact the college`s articulation officer. A transfer student may invoke the transfer appointment process to challenge an institutional decision to accept loans (*s) from regionally accredited colleges or universities. Transfer agreements are subject to change due to curriculum revisions at mcC as well as at our four-year institutions. Transfer requirements vary, so it`s important that you meet with an advisor or advisor early to make sure you sign up for the courses that will be transferred. You should choose a four-year transfer school and your field of study as soon as possible. Courses specified as applicable to your transfer degree may or may not apply to your degree at MCC. To check if your transfer course also applies to your MCC degree, please contact an academic advisor. A variety of MCC degrees can be fully accepted for a BS in Technology from WSC. You can transmit up to 66 hours (99 quarters of an hour) in the direction of your BS in other degrees. You must have obtained a « C- » or better in these courses. Transfer requirements vary by major and/or four-year college and/or university. In some cases, an associate degree is equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor`s degree, while in other cases, an associate degree may not be required for the transfer. Completion of all general education courses transferred to a particular department or college does not mean that students complete the MCC with an associate degree.
Students can complete nearly half of a bachelor`s degree at MCC and successfully transfer these courses to a four-year degree. MCC works closely with many four-year institutions to develop agreements that ensure a smooth transfer of courses and degrees. There are four types of these articulation agreements: Students who complete 60 or more credit hours at MCC and transfer those credits to a four-year college or university are eligible for the reverse transfer program. To complete the Michigan Transfer Agreement, students must pass at least 30 credits with at least 2.0 in each course.
